I made my first animated movie for the "final assignment" at secondary school, the theme was "Black Box 2" (Two because last year's theme already was "Black Box"). With this work I won the Ludo Van Hees Price 2008, named after and granted by the founder of our school's art departement Ludo Van Hees. The music is created with GarageBand. It's my first piece of music, so it isn't that great.
The film is about a man who gets stuck in a piece of paper on a desk, wich you can interpret as the first black box. Although he was a loner in his previous life, he misses the people around him and wants to go back. Aching to escape, he explores the two-dimensional world. During his first attempted escapes, he winds up in a new sheet of paper, but at his last attempt he lands in a black casket, the second black box, a new box to escape from.
